St. Andre Bessette Schola is a classical hybrid school located in Charlottesville, Virginia
We were founded by homeschooling parents seeking to give their kids a beautiful education in a joyful community.
We aim to lovingly form students in faith, reason, and virtue through combining homeschool lessons with classroom instruction in a classical pedagogy and the Roman Catholic tradition.
Grammar School
Students Pre-K through 6th grade attend in-person classes three days a week, Monday through Wednesday, from 9am to 2pm.
7th grade launches in the 2026-2027 school year.
Curriculum
Our classical curriculum includes language arts, latin, math, science, history, art, and music—enriched by activities like handicrafts, chess, athletics, and more. Private lessons are available in piano, violin, and viola beginning Fall 2025.
At Home
Parents partner with the Schola to delivery math and literacy lessons at home in the Singapore and Logic of English programs. Suggestions are also given for continuing instruction, at the parents’ discretion, in science, history, literature, and latin and field trips.
