St. Andre Bessette Schola is a classical hybrid school located in Charlottesville, Virginia
Serving preschool through fifth grade, we were founded by homeschooling parents seeking to give their kids a beautiful education in a joyful community.
We aim to lovingly form students in faith, reason, and virtue through combining homeschool lessons with classroom instruction in a classical pedagogy and the Roman Catholic tradition.
Grammar School
Students Pre-K through 5th grade attend in-person classes three days a week, Monday through Wednesday, from 9am to 2pm.
Curriculum
Our classical curriculum includes language arts, latin, math, science, history, art, and music—enriched by activities like handicrafts, chess, athletics, and more. Private lessons are available in piano, violin, and viola beginning Fall 2025.
At Home
Parents receive weekly updates from their child’s teacher with suggestions for work at home. Assignments will be provided for home lessons in math and language arts beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year.
